Newbie

Post by jackomet on Fri 22 Apr 2011, 16:27

Ok, Just stumbled across this forum.
Had my red 924 since 1985, bought it when it was 2 years old. Now done 165K miles and has a new (replacement) engine in it with 2K on that. Great car and until 3 years ago was used every day to get to work etc. Now used mainly by my son. His biggest bug bear is the dim (compared to what he's used to) headlights. Anyone had them changed from sealed beam units and where from? Over the years have changed/replaced/renewed just about everything. Some times it will be left standing for 4 months and then fire first time, great car, still fun to drive.

Welcome both of you!!

IIRC there is a company that does HID conversion kits for the 24/44, I'll have a look see if I can find them.

Any reason why you are using sealed beams though? Standard headlights where you can change fo a better bulb has always been the way I've improved things, just remember that on wiring that old don't entertain the idea of a higher wattage bulb it will eventually melt!
