Boxster owner going for 924 ownership
Hi again - been posting in Pint and a Curry and decided it was time to introduce myself properly.
Live near Walsall and am already a Porsche owner. I drive a 2000 Boxster S - Basalt Metallic (Black) with Savannah interior. Had it for 2 years now having bought it from Adrian Crawford Porsche. Been delighted with the Boxster and have gone from a mechanical idiot to somebody who is prepared to have a go. Done the radiators, condensers, front engine mount and clutch assist spring on the Box. Post on BoXa.net as teknow ... would be great to have a few of you over there for some friendly mid-engine vs front engine banter!
Anyhow, I decided to grab a 924 for the winter after a fellow BoXa.net member gave me the idea. I have my eye on a few different 924's at the moment and am relishing the opportunity to run and maintain one.
I've just sold the family 59-plate Mondeo as hardly used the bloody thing and reckon the 924 will easily do my 20-mile a day commute to work.
Am not going near a turbo, ideally looking for the 924 N/A but 924S would also be considered.
Until I have some front engine porn to post on here, here are some shots of the rebadging of my Box and new cupholders from the USA. (Will let you know if they fit the 924)

Look forward to speaking with you all a lot more over the coming weeks (and hopefully years).

Actually, I do have some front engine porn for you. My Brother-in-Law's Lancia Delta Integrale which I am selling on his behalf! Pro shots taken in the Peak District a fortnight ago ...

It could be tomorrow night as I've put in a shed load of overtime today!
If not it is 9:30am on Saturday morning ... can't wait!

Fitting cupholders to a 924 causes the engine to explode, well known fact that. Also, puppies and kittens die in horrible agony.
Suggest you avoid the cupholders.
Otherwise, I'm looking forward to see the '24. Pictures are required.

Took her from Walsall to Liverpool, then to North Wales and I'll be driving back to Walsall tonight.
Going good so far. No nasty surprises or hiccups. Attracting plenty of attention and the oldest car on the M6 North this morning by at least 15 years!

Made it!
230 miles today then!
Wooo hooo!
Amazed at how comfortable it was too. Brilliant.
Lessons learned:
1. Need new wiper blades.
2. An iPhone fits on the "shelf" in front of the centre heater vents nicely if secured with a little blue tac.
3. Next Monday and my new exhaust can't come quick enough.
4. There is just enough room for an iPad to slide under the drivers seat and get lost forever.
5. It is very easy to leave the lights on. Must buy a buzzer.
6. It ran okay on V-Power.
7. My rev counter has a mind of its own. Sometimes reads 0, go over a bump and it starts reading normally. Occasionally goes through periods of flickering anywhere between 0 and the current RPM.
8. 100mph was quite easy.
9. People look at you - especially VW Golf drivers.
10. My Mum thought it looked dated.....
