you really like rust don't you Steve Very Happy

I had a Matra Bageera in bronze!

When I took it for a MOT the sills were made of rolled newspaper and filler, too far gone so got rid. 1.5 Talbot running gear, it was never going to be a great car, but liked the 3 seats

I like your thinking ... but no! I joined the Matra enthusiasts club recently so there is no hope for me ... run ... save yourselves!!

And you know what there's me calling you about buying cars, and just about to start work on an MGF Suspect What's happened to us all Laughing

Chris H, family across the road when I was a kid had the Rancho, looked great back then, but Talbot running gear and 2 wheel drive with a body that was probably rusting before it left the factory was never going to work out longterm, not that my Dad's Sunbeam Stiletto faired much better!

I just think that any manufacturer who junks the rears seats in favour of the engine but then makes amend by putting three seats in a row at the front deserves to be rewarded with ownership! The Murena spaceframe was fully galvanised ... first production car to be so. Matra Djet was also the first production mid-engined car in mid 60's. Vive la france!

Dear Gods! Steve has lost the plot completely. I'm off to take away his admin status before he loses all semblance of sanity!

Although I have to say the Matra Murena is damned good to look at!
