Yep, drove it back from North Manc, never missed a beat. Loving the silky smooth power and the awesome V6 growl. I'm smitten to be fair.
Seems quite good on fuel too. Just need to sort a stereo for the long trip.
Heaps quicker than the Beemer too, which might suggest that the Beemer had a bit of a problem!
BRING ON THE 'RING!!!!

No stickies for this one. I quite like the subtle "Grandad Sleeper" look!

Just need to replace the 2.4 badge with a 1.9 TDi to complete the look

Re: The Beemer Is Dead, Long Live The Audi
Well, I think I may ever so slightly have broken it!!

Cylinder three was waaay down on compression and the general concensus is that the HG has gone. Local garage quoted approx £600 for one HG (should really do them both) and that didn't include timing belts, tensioners water pump etc and since it is worth zero as it stands I figured I had nothing to lose by having a bash myself. So I took it apart.
All bits including belts etc and the can and crank locking tools cost about £350, so we'll see how I get on.
