Well, the Auto Union performed admirably at Silverstone at the weekend. I am a happy bunny.
Only two criticisms, the body roll and the epic brake fade. Fair enough, it is a luxury saloon and not a sports car. The body roll can be easily sorted with a set of coilovers or stiffer dampers and springs, but the brakes are a bit more of a problem. Those that know on the Audi forum reckon there are two routes to go with brakes, either S3 calipers with TT carriers and larger discs or S4 B6A4 uprights and the S4 brakes for even bigger discs. trouble is, both routes will cost considerably more than I paid for the car!
Reckon I might half-*bottom* it as usual and chuck some racing blue fluid and Mintex 1144/Ferodo DS2500/Yellowstuff pads in and see what happens. Neutral

Reports suggest that in terms of cold "bite" Yellowstuff is no worse than Redstuff. But redstuff is cheaper! Surprisingly Racing Blue is actually cheaper than the lower spec Motul/Ferodo stuff.
The car is at least sorted now for road use and I'm beginning to think in terms of selling it on and buying another E36 Coupe. Much better handling car to start with and I did enjoy driving it more to be fair. Cool

No, not a lemon, maybe a lime though!

328 Coupe is top of the list and I did go to look at a later MR2 a couple of weeks ago ........

Can't go wrong with a BM, if you can get a buyer for the Audi I'd sell it and use the money to buy a coupe, better to spend extra money on a car that'll respond well to the improvement Wink
